Anyone else tired of the ffffound dead ends, especially for photography? I’m thankful Tumblr has made efforts on their end to discourage the practice of lazy posts. But it still is in the hands of the those posting entries themselves. The excuse of not wanting to clutter your blog with credit lines is not a good enough reason.

ABOUT:

I come across a lot of unattributed images online and can't bring myself to post them without a credit. It feels like passing on counterfeit goods.

Often an attribution is stripped three or four links back from the place it is spotted. This is my attempt to track down the original source and collar the perpetrator.

Frequent offender ffffound.com has its own section because I prefer to collar the mastermind and credit the person who tried to leave a source for an image they liked as much as I do.

I will also collar sites that I'd like to know more about.

Please use the tip line if you have information on an unsolved case or if you've been collared and want to send a note with a link to your updated, attributed post or response post (you will be updated to "reformed"). Tips can be anonymous, but I'll link to your site or credit you if you want to send that information along with your tip.

I don't spend all my time tracking things down or trying to "catch" people. Things I post are usually from blogs I visit regularly and enjoy. If they post something I like without a source, I'll post it. If I happen to know the source, I'll post that.
